Inward Investment agency Sheffield First for Investment has won the praises of researchers who advise governments and companies around the world.
Research and investment strategy specialist GDP Global has ranked SF4I as 'world-leading' and the 'benchmark for developed world investment promotion agencies' for its work to attract investment to the region.
SF4I's chief executive Phil Roberts said: "We took part in the benchmarking work last year and were placed in the top 10 per cent of world investment agencies in 2005. It is great news that we have been able to build on that and be identified in 2006 as leading the market in which we operate. It is a great tribute to the first class team we have."
Marketing director David Fletcher added: "We have a highly professional and knowledgeable team at SF4I, working on behalf of Sheffield and the surrounding region.
"We are working in a highly competitive market, alongside sophistictaed national and international oganisations, so to have been ranked so highly in such a respected report is very satisfying."
