International Communities and Languages

Sheffield and South Yorkshire contain many international communities, speaking many different languages.

Currently the largest number of international workers in the Sheffield labour market are from the Slovak Republic, India, Poland, Pakistan and China.

Sheffield is also home to many international students, the largest populations of which are Chinese, Indian and Malaysian.

Due to the diversity of Sheffield many different languages are spoken in the city. These include Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Polish as well as English.
