Creativesheffield is the city’s economic development function, with Business Growth being its core activity.
Key priorities include:
Attracting and supporting inward investment into Sheffield;
Supporting the growth of indigenous major strategic businesses and high growth companies;
Encouraging business innovation and technology transfer;
Ensuring a portfolio of key infrastructure projects are delivered to support the City's economic growth objectives.
Additional information:
• Between 2008 and 2011, Creativesheffield leveraged over £75 million of private sector investment and assisted in the creation and safeguarding of 5,000 jobs.
• During this period, Creative Sheffield worked with major corporate names including Sky, Siemens, Capita, Dixons, Sandvik, WANDisco and many others.
• Creativesheffield’s services to businesses include the identification of business property options, support for the recruitment and relocation of staff, international trade support and the provision of benchmarking data. We also offer access to key networks, finance, local suppliers and professional services.
• From 1 April 2011, Creativesheffield became part of the Place Directorate of Sheffield City Council, aligning its activities more closely with others related to developing the City's economy including Marketing Sheffield, Enterprise, Culture, Regeneration and Development Services.
• Creativesheffield is funded by Sheffield City Council and is a partner in the South Yorkshire Sector Growth Enhancement Programme that is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Yorkshire and The Humber ERDF Programme 2007-13.
