Neuro Partners Ltd, who offer support for people with brain injuries, have recently expanded into Sheffield – opening their third office in The Quadrant. The expansion has been aided by Business Link Yorkshire (which was launched on 1 April 2008) and Creativesheffield bringing jobs, revenue and improved healthcare to the city.
Jonathan Wade, Managing Director at Neuro Partners Ltd, said: “The NHS provides some of the best brain injury rehabilitation in the world – particularly at the crisis medical phase. There is also considerable support at the other end of the pathway to help patients get back to work through the outstanding work of disability services such as Jobcentre Plus and Access to Work.“
“However, the recovery and support required by patients in between stages can take years and statutory services don’t have the capacity to deliver long term specialist care as there are always new cases needing to be prioritised. Such people end up with generic support that often does not always understand or deal with the complexity of brain injury. Therefore, there is a clear gap in the market that Neuro Partners has filled successfully in two regions to date. We contacted Business Link, who put us in touch with Creativesheffield, to help us find the third.”
Neuro Partners Ltd aims to expand by one new region per year for the next 10 years and each new region will account for approximately £750k turnover in the first year. Through their work in Tees Valley and Cumbria they started to get referrals in Yorkshire - hence the decision to open a third office in Sheffield.
Business Link Business Adviser Carolyn Beeden facilitated the link to Creativesheffield who have expertise in all aspects of both inward and indigenous business investment – providing advice on relocation, finance, property, HR and planning. Business Link strive to work more closely with Healthcare Technology businesses and to provide them with free impartial guidance and support.
Creativesheffield introduced Neuro Partners to the Sheffield Office Portfolio (www.sheffieldofficeportfolio.co.uk) which details the new Grade A office space available within the city. The directors at Neuro Partners looked at this with interest and, after taking a tour of 6 of the properties, selected The Quadrant.
“Creativesheffield and Business Link offered dedicated support and are extremely welcoming, understanding of our needs and our requirements,” commented Jonathan Wade. “They are the type of companies who spend time getting to know you and employ the kind of people who make you feel welcome – which seems to be reflective of the city. We liked this approach and can see a synergy with our own approach which is essential when a business is making a large financial commitment such as expansion.”
James Wilson, Investment Manager at Creativesheffield, explained: “Through support from Creativesheffield and Business Link, Neuro Partners Ltd will bring over 70 new jobs to the city in the first 12 months and this will double again over time. Although Sheffield will be their central base, peripatetic employees will be hired to work in the field from right across Yorkshire. The Quadrant boasts excellent transport links and suitable access for those with disabilities. This is a fantastic investment for Sheffield and we are pleased to have offered our support to this rapidly growing company.”
Jonathon added: “Business Link Yorkshire is opening doors for our organisation, helping us to understand the structure of Statutory and Private Organisations within the region and how to reach them. They also provided insight to the support and advice they can give us in the future to stimulate our growth in the Healthcare sector. We look forward to working with them in the future.”
