Google and Creativesheffield Help Local Businesses

Published Date: 23 Oct 2008

Google have joined up with Creativesheffield to offer local businesses the chance to boost their visibility and return on e-marketing investment through FREE online seminars.

Consumers and businesses are increasingly using the internet to research and make purchases with 17% of consumer retail spending in the UK being online* and 70% of B2B buyers beginning their purchase cycle at a search engine.**

Today there is a seemingly endless choice for consumers to research and purchase online. This means that SMEs face a dilemma - where to focus resources and budgets to deliver the maximum impact?

Andrew Barke, Industry Head at Google, said: “We're offering local businesses the opportunity to hear from Aidan O'Curry, a New Business Development Executive from Google, on Wednesday 5th November 2008 through webinars at 11am or 2pm. Aidan will be giving an overview of the latest online trends and how you can use the online channel to boost the return-on-investment on your marketing spend.“

Brendan Moffett, Director of Strategic Marketing at Creativesheffield, commented: “In these difficult economic times, Creativesheffield want to help local businesses succeed online. In order to remain competitive, businesses must keep up to date with the fantastic innovative e-marketing facilities that are available to them. These webinars will hopefully provide Sheffield businesses with a taster of what Google can offer - allowing them to grow their business accordingly.”

Andrew Barke added, “This is a fantastic opportunity to gain some invaluable and free advice from the experts - all from the comfort of your own office. This will be an online meeting so all you will need is a phone-line and an internet connection! Details of an offer for Sheffield businesses to work directly with Google on their online strategy will also be unveiled.”
