A new report from Sheffield City Council and the Engineers Employers Federation (EEF) challenges the traditional perception of the manufacturing industry and demonstrates its important role in the economy of the Sheffield City Region.
The research focuses on the economic contribution that the manufacturing industry makes to the local economy.
The study builds on previous work undertaken, including the Sheffield Economic Masterplan, The Sheffield Rotherham Economic Study and the City Region Development Programme.
