Velocity Estates has won planning permission for an 18-storey student accommodation tower at its Velocity Tower site in Sheffield.
The site is already home to a completed 22-storey residential tower. The planning is a change of use consent, as the site already had permission for an 18-storey aparthotel next to the completed residential tower.
Velocity has changed the planning to adapt to market demand.
Residential Manager for Velocity Estates, Suzanne Wright, said: 'The planning we have secured at Velocity Tower is yet another vote of confidence for the development and will allow us to once again adapt to the changes in market trends.
'Having recognised a strong demand within the city for a student cluster scheme, Velocity Tower presented the ideal location and the student tower will be a welcome addition to the broad residential services we already provide to the people of Sheffield.’
