Yorkshire Forward's landmark building at the AMP currently provides business facilities and a support infrastructure designed to help fledgling companies turn innovative ideas into commercial reality in an environment which accelerates growth.
The centre offers dedicated support for innovation and 50,000 sq ft of office, laboratory and workshop space for hi-tech advanced engineering, manufacturing and materials organisations.
Regarded as the AMP’s incubation facility, the centre has been designed to accommodate a range of manufacturing-related activities, from fledgling engineering and technology companies, to University spin-offs and subsidiaries of established companies. There’s also a wing dedicated to organisations wishing to develop new environmental energy technology solutions.
There’s a comprehensive range of meeting and conference rooms and business support services, as well as “hot” desk facilities, and opportunities for virtual companies to benefit from the centre’s prestigious address.
Built to the highest specifications of sustainable building design, the centre boasts a number of ‘green’ features such as ground-source heat pumps, grey water recapture systems and photovoltaics. The centre is also powered by a unique hydrogen mini-grid system.
Creative Space Management runs the centre, which provides links to other technology and business support organisations both on the AMP and in the wider South Yorkshire area.
Evolution
Time spent in Incubation can be so successful for hi-tech companies that they quickly outgrow the limited space available. The next stop for them, and for larger companies moving directly to the AMP from outside, is Evolution @ the AMP.

The scheme was developed by UK Strategic Partnership Ltd, which is a joint venture between UK Coal and developer Strategic Sites.
The 14 unit development of high quality industrial and ‘hybrid’ units offers ideal growth opportunities for new start and expanding companies in manufacturing technology related sectors.
The units, ranging from 2,500 – 27,000 sq ft, have been constructed to a shell finish and are suitable for immediate occupation for industrial or warehousing use, or alternatively can be fitted-out very quickly to provide hi-tech or office accommodation.
