The City Centre Masterplan was launched in February 2001 and sought to address the key issues facing Sheffield City Centre at that time. It set out a clear framework for the revival of the City Centre and included what has been dubbed as the 'Magnificent Seven' projects:-

City Hall & Barkers Pool
Castlegate/Markets
Station Square
Sheffield Digital Campus
Integrated Transport
Significant progress has been made on all these projects and the excellent results are now clearly evident. Further details can be found on this page. In 2006 a review of the 2000 Masterplan commenced and this eventually led to the publication of the draft Sheffield City Centre Masterplan 2008.
