Appointed to Creative Sheffield in April 2007 John is responsible for Enterprise and Skills. The early focus will be on delivery of the “demand” elements of the Sheffield Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) and the city regions approach to skills for the advanced economy.
A member of the award winning Sheffield First for Investment team, John has extensive experience in the design and delivery of labour market solutions. From 2001 he was responsible for JOBMatch services across South Yorkshire which included the design and delivery of customised recruitment and training services to new and existing organisations in South Yorkshire. He also directed and implemented the successful Construction JOBMatch SY programme.
Previous roles include HR Director for TDG a leading supply chain contractor where he was responsible for new location implementations for blue chip businesses, and senior HR roles with United Biscuits. John is non-executive Chair for a Sheffield based charitable trust and a non-executive Director with a local social enterprise. He has an MBA from the University of Sheffield and lectures on the Urban Regeneration masters programme for Sheffield Hallam University. Married with 3 children he enjoys cricket and music.
